My name is Dikla Baram. I am a mother of three and an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children and their families.
I have both a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
My experience includes working with children with: Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional regulation and behavioural challenges, Sensory Processing Disorders, learning difficulties, fine motor delays (pre school skills, handwriting), gross motor delays (movement, coordination), Developmental Delay, delays in social skills and play skills, and difficulties with everyday life skills (dressing, eating, toileting and sleeping).
I have worked in a range of settings including Early Childhood Intervention, private practice, community health and education, providing services in formal clinic settings, family homes, childcare centres and schools. I have extensive experience working as a Family Key Worker supporting families with coordinating their therapy services and supports.
I believe that therapy services are most effective when provided in the child's natural environment (home, kindergarten, childcare and school). I will partner with you to bring about the best outcomes for your child (Family Centred approach). Together we identify and build on the family and the child's strengths and abilities to best support their challenges (Strength Based approach). Following the initial visit and an assessment we will plan an intervention program that will suit the family's daily routine (Routine Based approach). Family daily routines are those activities that occur on a regular basis and are repeated frequently (meal time, bath, play and other activities) offering multiple opportunities for teaching and learning.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and supporting your child's development.
All assessments, intervention goals and sessions will be made in collaboration with your family. You may wish to include other people who play a role in your child’s development in this process, such as your child’s teacher.
Services are provided in your family home, kindergarten, childcare or school.
Small therapy groups for children experiencing similar difficulties such as: participating and performing in P.E and during play time, pre-writing skills (drawing, colouring in, hand dominance, pencil grip, scissors skills) or handwriting skills. Group therapy services include liaising with the child's parents and teachers to ensure consistent strategies are being implemented across settings to maximise each child’s progress.
